Description
There is a special type of graphite brushes: the cutting brushes more often called by double. Such brushes especially for improvement of contact of a brush with a collector in the presence of the strengthened vibration were developed. The most important characteristic of graphite brushes is their hardness. On brush hardness graphite divide on soft, average hardness and firm. In application to electrographite brushes: brushes of the EG - 4 and EG - 71 brands are soft, EG - 14 - the average hardness, and EG - 8 and EG - 74 - firm. The brush of EG - 14 was developed specially as universal, if necessary, to replace an electrographite brush of any brand. Firm graphite brushes work in the conditions of the complicated switching and high temperatures. The special abrasive powder giving to a brush the cleaning properties is entered into structure of such brushes. Such brushes not only transfer electric current to a collector, but also clear it of a deposit.
